Agile Malta held their 1st International Conference on Agile Software Development at The Hilton on February 19th. Agile Development is a family of development processes that promotes common sense and allows businesses to create products in a lighter, faster and more people-centric way. Uniblue Systems, MediaCatalyst and Sprint-iT were the main sponsors of the event, which was held to promote and develop further understanding of the Agile process – particularly Scrum - amongst the Maltese IT community.

The Keynote speech was presented by Boris Gloger, co-founder of Sprint-iT, who has authored articles on key topics affecting project teams and is currently writing a book about Scrum to be published in Spring 2008. Amongst the other speakers were Dave Sammut from MediaCatalyst and Aldo Cauchi Savona from Uniblue.

Around 40 delegates attended the event and feedback was extremely positive. AgileMalta hopes to run the conference as an annual event to encourage and advance the Agile process in the Maltese Islands.
